Please note the information below from CAD support regarding the transition of Comms and CAD arrangements for the Brigades that are moving to District 12.
The Brigades are as follows:
KINGLAKE - currently in Maroondah Grp District 13 moving to Yea Grp District12.
KINGLAKE WEST - currently in Maroondah Grp District 13 moving to Yea Grp District12.
TOOLANGI -currently in Maroondah Grp District 13 moving to Yea Grp District12.
WALLAN - currently in Hume Grp District 14 moving to Mitchell Shire Grp District 12.
The changes will take place this Sunday 6th November.
The new infrastructure to assist the changes is a new dispatch radio site at Kinglake (Channel 218), which has recently been completed. Most of the impacted brigades have been able to test the new site, however there is some testing that will occur in the next 24 hours
Following the changes:
• The 4 Brigades will be dispatched by VicFire at Ballarat
• Dispatch radio comms for the 4 Brigades will be via Channel 218 (The radio site is at Kinglake)
• Channel 218 will be linked to channel 19 and the other dispatch radio channels in Hume Region
• Other Brigades in Yea Group (Glenburn at this stage and possible others) may use channel 218 for dispatch where it offers better coverage than channel 19
• The CAD centre will direct RDO and strike team requests for these 4 brigades to D12
Brigade members should receive pager messages following the changes which will advise of the completion of the changes.
This final part of the changes for these Brigades is the culmination of a lengthy Boundary Alignment transition. I would like to thank Brigades, Groups, their members and staff for their support and understanding through this process.
Regards,
Peter Creak
