It has been three months since I commenced as Northern and Western Metropolitan Regional Manager and overall its been an enjoyable experience. I have tried to get out and meet as many people as possible. Indeed, I have met many of you at brigade and group meetings, at various committee meetings and other events and functions.

It’s all go for the Rural State Championships at Werribee Park

CFA brigades from across the state will converge on Werribee on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 April for the 2011 VFBV Rural Fire Brigades State Championships, one of the biggest social and sporting gatherings on the CFA/VFBV calendar.

Volunteer charter bill introduced into parliament

A CFA Volunteer Charter bill was last week (Thursday 3 March) introduced into State Parliament following the official signing of the charter at a ceremony held a week earlier on 27 February at Upper Ferntree Gully attended by Premier Ted Baillieu and Minister for Police and Emergency Services, Peter Ryan.

Information Unit staff test their skills

The Information Unit at an ICC is a core component of any ICC set up. Recently, CFA and DSE/Parks Victoria staff trained as Information Officers gathered at Kangaroo Ground ICC to refine their skills and knowledge.

Sam’s the go-to man for all things HR
