Concept medium tanker photos

Some photos from Mike of the new Medium Tanker that was on show at South Morang.

From the deck behind the driver looking towards the rear.  Note the new style of tank.  These can be fixed/replaced much more easily and quickly than the current fibreglass ones.  Front tank is a fresh drinking water supply.

Rear of truck.  Tank-fill inlet is on the left hand side.  Note the two high-pressure blackout lines at the top left and right, which are used for blacking out.  There is no re-circ valve on these new pumps - the pump is either filling the tanking or boosting, never both.

Passenger side storage cupboards.  The left one would be used for BA.  The doors lift up rather than sideways, which they are trialling with this concept.  OK if you are short - a bit head-banging for taller people.

Slide-out esky holder on passenger side of truck, below the BA cupboard.  (Nice touch, in my opinion, when you think how often we are holding our eskies with our feet when we go around corners...)  Next to it is the tank-fill inlet.

Front mounted monitor controlled by joystick in the cabin by passenger/crew leader.  Feedback from western districts is that these work well on grass fires, especially when the trucks are turning out only two-up.

Control panel between driver and passenger.  Radio, pump controls and front monitor joystick.

Rear passenger seats.  No deck access from the crew cab - all seats face forward.

Driver side cupboard.

High-pressure hose.  Moving front forward/back changes flow from spray to stream.
