State Forum for Community Safety Volunteers- Macedon Oct 15-16
The purpose of this email is to seek your support in promoting the first state forum for community safety volunteers over the weekend of October 15 – 16, 2011 at the Macedon Spa Conference Centre in Macedon.
This is a great opportunity to not only support and reward some of our volunteers for their great work in this area, but to also encourage the development of a bigger team of “volunteer community safety champions” around the State.

INVITATION to "Then The Wind Changed" Premiere Screening
I would appreciate your help in sending this invitation to the launch of my film "Then The Wind Changed" to members of the Strathewen / Arthurs Creek Fire Brigade.
The film is not about the operational aspects of Black Saturday and does not have as its focus the extraordinary work of our CFA both during and after the fire. Rather it is an intimate and personal look at the process of recovery through the eyes of 6 individuals / families within the Strathewen community.
I would be delighted if any members of the Brigade or auxiliary would like to join us for the launch.
Best regards,
Celeste Geer
After two and a half years of filming in Strathewen it is with great pleasure that Celeste Geer and Rebel Films invite you to attend the premiere screening of "Then The Wind Changed". The film will screen on Saturday 3 September at 6.30 pm at ACMI cinemas, Federation Square Melbourne (full details in attached invitation).

Media Training
Through VFBV, CFA will be holding two Media Training sessions for Volunteers on Saturday 27th August. There will be a morning and afternoon session. The proposed venue is a meeting room at the State Control Centre, this is yet to be confirmed.
The content will be practical stuff with handling the media in typical situations that we might find ourselves in.
If you or any of your Brigade members are interested in attending please send your contact details to me (email address and phone) indicating if you would prefer morning or afternoon session. I will pass this on to VFBV who will confirm details when they have been finalized.
Could I have expressions of interest returned to me by Friday 12th August 2011.
