I would appreciate your help in sending this invitation to the launch of my film "Then The Wind Changed" to members of the Strathewen / Arthurs Creek Fire Brigade.
The film is not about the operational aspects of Black Saturday and does not have as its focus the extraordinary work of our CFA both during and after the fire. Rather it is an intimate and personal look at the process of recovery through the eyes of 6 individuals / families within the Strathewen community.
I would be delighted if any members of the Brigade or auxiliary would like to join us for the launch.
Best regards,
Celeste Geer
After two and a half years of filming in Strathewen it is with great pleasure that Celeste Geer and Rebel Films invite you to attend the premiere screening of "Then The Wind Changed". The film will screen on Saturday 3 September at 6.30 pm at ACMI cinemas, Federation Square Melbourne (full details in attached invitation).
The 57 minute documentary film is an intimate look at the post-fire recovery process. The story focusses on the different experiences of six individuals / families who are part of the Strathewen community, as they face the challenges of rebuilding their lives after Black Saturday.
The Strathewen Community Renewal Association is supporting this event by providing bus transport between Strathewen and Melbourne to assist people who would like to attend. The Association also invites you to attend a community celebration at the ACMI lounge immediately after the screening.
Please note that due to the subject matter of the film, the screening is not suitable for children. We are also aware that some scenes may be distressing for viewers and there will be professional support available on the night. However, the film is more than a record of our losses, it is also a testament to our resilience. We hope you can join us for the evening.
As indicated on the invitation please RSVP to celeste3000@yahoo.com, giving the names of family members wishing to attend. It would also be helpful if you could indicate whether you require the bus transport to the city. Once we have confirmed the final numbers of bus travelers we will contact you with departure times and location (probably departing Strathewen at 5pm).
Celeste is also happy to answer any questions about the film and can be contacted at celeste3000@yahoo.com or on 0402 011 206.
