At this stage, the only course that will be able to go ahead (due to numbers) will be Advanced Spokesperson training on 13 August. There are still four places left in this course, which is being held for Operational staff and Managers – Regional Directors/Managers of Community Safety/Operations Officers/Operation Managers/RDOs/Incident Controllers. Etc.
I currently only have two people for the Spokesperson (beginner) being held on 10 August. This course needs another eight people to go ahead.
Also still need bookings for the Local Media Engagement courses on 9 August – one session during the day and one at night. This is ideal for BASOs/CECs/Captains/Lieutenants/Brigade secretaries. Etc.
Although these courses are not accredited, they are “skills update” media seminars and provide an opportunity for all members to receive training in 2012 and before the summer fire season. This is in addition to training provided as part of the L3 IC course and will fill the gap while the Incident Management Team Training Project creates a new incident spokesperson module, likely next year.
If you are interested in attending any of these courses, please notify your manager/Training Manager.
