Notification of Fiskville report release to Members

I wish to provide some guidance on the notification of Brigades regarding the Fiskville Investigation report and CFA’s response.
I ask that you confirm with your Brigades that they are aware that the Report has been released and where additional information may be found if required (see below).

I also ask OIC’s to ensure that their staff are aware of the report and associated supporting documents.


Brigades will also receive written advice from RD Greg Esnouf, regarding the release of the report within the next few days.

The report identifies the “exposure of people to materials” in chapter 7,  as a qualitative risk of chronic exposure by groups of users .  This information may form some direction in relation to individuals need for further advice.

1. Based on giving particular weight to the groups’ frequent and long-term exposure chemicals via inhalation and absorption.
2. Students who were residents at Fiskville are seen as belonging in the “Other employee and resident group”

In addition CEO Mick Bourke will host an online forum tomorrow (Friday) at midday regarding the Professor Joy Report.

Members are invited to ask the CEO questions regarding the report and CFA’s response.  Questions can be submitted prior to the session by emailing onlineforum@cfa.vic.gov.au or view the forum and ask your question live on CFA Connect between 12 and 1pm.
